Transfer market heats up with Barcola, Vinicius Jr, and Guimaraes linked to top clubs
Interest in Bradley Barcola
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly seeking £145m for France forward Bradley Barcola, with Arsenal and Liverpool showing interest. Barcola, who is 23 years old, has reportedly closed the door on signing a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain and is now expected to leave this summer. He is contracted to the club through 2031.
Liverpool are actively working on a deal to bring Barcola to Anfield as the club seeks to replace Mohamed Salah. Barcola is reportedly open to the move. His valuation is considered high, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly placing a £140m price tag on him. Barcola has spent three years with the Parisian club after leaving Lyon in 2023.
The forward has been instrumental in back-to-back Champions League and Ligue 1 titles. He has reportedly achieved 50 goal involvements over the past two campaigns and showcased performances at the World Cup this summer, scoring three goals and assisting a fourth in eight appearances as France reached the semi-finals.
Despite his contributions, Barcola has reportedly struggled to establish himself as a first-choice option at Paris Saint-Germain, competing for playing time with players such as Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. His potential availability could increase if Paris Saint-Germain were to sign other wingers like Yan Diomande or Maghnes Akliouche, who are also reported targets for Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Regarding Brazil forward Vinicius Jr, Arsenal have not opened talks for his signing, but Real Madrid have set a price of 160m euros (£137m) for the 26-year-old this summer. Reports indicate that Arsenal would be willing to offer Vinicius the largest contract in the club’s history. However, Vinicius’ priority is reportedly to sign a new deal with Real Madrid, where he has one year remaining on his current contract.

In other transfer news, Arsenal are set to accelerate talks for Newcastle’s 28-year-old Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. Guimaraes has reportedly informed his representatives that he wants his future resolved within the next week, prior to rejoining Newcastle’s pre-season training camp.
