Liverpool linked with Barcola as Manchester United pursue Zirkzee deal
Transfer Speculation Surrounds Premier League Clubs
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Paris St-Germain and France forward Bradley Barcola. While the 23-year-old has verbally agreed to join Liverpool, a significant difference in the clubs’ valuation remains a potential hurdle for the transfer. Reports suggest PSG is seeking a substantial fee for the player.
Should Barcola move to Liverpool, it could prompt PSG to compete with Real Madrid for the signing of Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, 19, from RB Leipzig. Arsenal are also reportedly considering Barcola as a potential acquisition.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid do not plan to sell Brazil forward Vinicius Jr, 26, despite his contract expiring next summer. The Spanish club is confident he will agree to a new deal. Arsenal had also been linked with Vinicius Jr as a possible replacement for Leandro Trossard.
Activity in the Midfield and Attack
Newcastle United sources have stated the club is not in talks with Arsenal regarding a deal to sell captain Bruno Guimaraes, 28. The Tyneside club expects the Brazil international to return to training soon. Bayern Munich also have no plans to sell Colombia forward Luis Diaz, 29, who has expressed his desire to remain with the German champions, despite interest from Al-Hilal.
Everton is reportedly seeking around £70m for Senegal winger Iliman Ndiaye, 26, with Manchester United and Al-Hilal showing interest. Manchester United are also willing to let Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee, 25, depart and are in discussions with Juventus about a potential deal. If Zirkzee leaves, Ollie Watkins has been mentioned as a possible replacement for United.
In other transfer news, Nottingham Forest is reportedly close to finalising a 40m euros (£34m) deal to sign Ivory Coast centre-back Ousmane Diomande, 22, from Sporting. Coventry City has agreed a club-record deal worth an initial £22.5m to sign English goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, 25, from Brighton.
Loan Moves and Departures
Former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, 27, who left Ajax in the summer, is currently training with Crystal Palace. However, no discussions have taken place regarding the Japan international joining the club. Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips is finalising a loan move to Championship side Sheffield United after being excluded from City’s pre-season tour squad.
Manchester United could potentially send young left-back Harry Amass to Coventry, either on a permanent transfer or on loan. This move has generated interest regarding the possible arrival of Lewis Hall at United. Additionally, Mohamed Salah is currently without a club after leaving Liverpool, with Besiktas and several Saudi clubs reportedly interested in the Egyptian player.
The future of João Palhinha has also been a subject of speculation. While Bayern Munich’s sporting director has indicated a desire to trim their squad, potentially paving the way for Palhinha to join Aston Villa, the midfielder has expressed a preference to remain where he is. He had previously indicated a desire to extend his loan stay at Spurs, and his former manager, Marco Silva, reportedly wants him at Benfica on loan.

The transfer market continues to see various movements and discussions as clubs prepare for the upcoming season.
