Lando Norris Miami GP Rain: A Race Rescheduled

Just before the race, Lando Norris had secured a solid qualifying position, coming in fourth. He noted that McLaren experienced a “reality check” during qualifying, which highlighted some struggles compared to their performance on Friday. Kimi Antonelli, however, topped the charts, clocking in nearly four tenths quicker than Norris.

The Sprint race leading up to the main event saw Norris take victory — a promising sign for McLaren. Yet, Oscar Piastri faced deployment issues during qualifying, landing him in seventh place.

As the race commenced, the weather loomed large in everyone’s mind. The forecast warned of heavier rainstorms arriving close to the original start time. Oscar Piastri remarked, “It’s obviously going to be a voyage into the unknown for everybody.”

When the lights went out, the expected rain failed to materialize. Instead, drivers like Antonelli and Norris focused on executing their strategies without weather interruptions. Antonelli ultimately clinched victory, marking his third consecutive win in Formula 1.

During lap 26, Antonelli made his pit stop while maintaining a lead of 2.4 seconds over Norris. The race concluded with Antonelli finishing first after 57 laps, while Norris secured a commendable second place.

Currently, Antonelli leads the championship with a 20-point gap over George Russell. As for McLaren, having two drivers in the top three signifies a crucial step forward amidst their struggles earlier in the season.
