Transfer Window Latest: Premier League Clubs Eyeing Key Signings
Arsenal’s pursuit of attacking talent
Arsenal are actively engaged in discussions for several attacking players as the summer transfer window progresses. The club is reportedly in fresh talks regarding Julian Alvarez, the Argentina striker, with speculation also linking him to a potential swap deal involving Viktor Gyokeres. There are indications that Arsenal could make a bid for Christos Tzolis, following an agreement to transfer Leandro Trossard to Besiktas. The Gunners also continue to show interest in Morgan Rogers and Bruno Guimaraes, alongside young talent Andria Bartishvili.
The interest in Alvarez comes as Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola is reportedly unavailable for transfer. Alvarez, a former Manchester City player, is said to be open to a move to Arsenal if his preferred transfer to Barcelona does not materialise this summer. Discussions between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are ongoing, though the clubs’ valuations of Alvarez are currently not aligned.
Arsenal‘s sporting director, Andrea Berta, is involved in negotiations with his former club, Atletico Madrid, regarding Alvarez. The club is also preparing to accelerate its pursuit of Tzolis, a Greek winger from Club Brugge, who previously played in English football. This potential transfer is expected to be in addition to any moves for other high-profile forwards.
Manchester United and Chelsea strengthen squads
Manchester United are working on a midfield overhaul, having recently welcomed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, in addition to goalkeeper Karl Darlow. The club has withdrawn from a deal for Ederson, who has since been offered a new contract by Atalanta. United are now heavily linked with France international Manu Kone from Roma, who impressed at the World Cup.
However, Manchester United could face competition for Kone, with Atletico Madrid also reportedly interested. Roma is understood to be in a position where they need to make player sales. Separately, Manchester United officially signed Youri Tielemans in a deal that saw him sign a five-year contract after a release clause was triggered.
Chelsea are actively pursuing defensive reinforcements. The club is pushing to sign Pep Chavarria and Maxence Lacroix. There is also interest in Alvaro Carreras, with reports suggesting an initial approach to Real Madrid for the former Manchester United defender. Chelsea‘s interest in Carreras comes amid ongoing discussions regarding Chavarria, a left-back from Rayo Vallecano.
Liverpool and other club interests
Liverpool have engaged in new discussions with Paris Saint-Germain concerning Bradley Barcola. The France forward has emerged as a key transfer target for Liverpool, particularly after it became clear that RB Leipzig player Yan Diomande was focused on joining PSG. Liverpool, who are looking to replace Mohamed Salah and have already signed Spain winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna, have made fresh contact regarding a deal for Barcola, who is reportedly keen on a move to Merseyside.
In other transfer news, Bournemouth have reportedly been offered Antonio Silva, a defender from Benfica who has previously been linked with Real Madrid and Manchester United. Tottenham have also entered the race to sign Neco Williams, a former Liverpool full-back now playing for Nottingham Forest, who has attracted interest from Manchester United and Newcastle.
Eduardo Camavinga remains committed to staying at Real Madrid despite ongoing speculation about his future. His situation is expected to be monitored during the initial period of Jose Mourinho’s tenure at the club.

Manchester United is also set to formally announce the signing of Cristian Orozco once his transfer is finalised. The club is also nearing completion of moves for Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow. Additionally, Manchester United could receive a significant sell-on windfall from Alejandro Garnacho’s potential departure to Chelsea, following Mason Greenwood’s possible move to Fenerbahce.
The World Cup semi-final between Argentina and England is scheduled for tonight, with Alvarez expected to feature for Argentina.
