Wakefield Trinity to welcome Davy Litten from Hull FC on four-year deal
Wakefield Trinity has announced the signing of Davy Litten from Hull FC, with the centre set to join the club at the conclusion of the 2026 Super League season. Litten has agreed to a four-year contract with Wakefield, a move that will see him remain with the club until the end of the 2030 season.
The transfer involves a substantial fee, described by Hull FC as a “significant six-figure transfer fee” from the West Yorkshire side, following a transfer request made by the player. Wakefield Trinity also acknowledged the fee as “substantial” but did not disclose the specific amount.
Litten’s Move to Wakefield
Davy Litten, who is 23 years old, expressed his enthusiasm for the move to Wakefield Trinity. He stated that he is grateful to be signing for what he considers a great club and finds the opportunity exciting. Litten also noted his anticipation to begin in 2027, having observed the club’s progress both on and off the field, which has impressed him. He looks forward to the next four years with Wakefield.
The Hull-born academy graduate has made 68 appearances for his hometown club, Hull FC, since his senior debut in 2022. Interestingly, his debut match was against Wakefield Trinity. At the start of the 2025 season, Litten secured the number three jersey for Hull, going on to make 42 appearances in that position over the past two seasons.
Wakefield Trinity Head Coach, Daryl Powell, shared his delight regarding Litten’s signing, highlighting that Litten will become part of one of the youngest and most exciting back lines in the competition. Powell described Litten as young and driven, appreciating his physicality and will to win. The coach believes Litten has the potential to become one of the premier backline players in the coming years.
Impact on Wakefield’s Squad
Litten’s arrival is expected to bolster Wakefield Trinity‘s back line, which already includes international players such as Tom Johnstone and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck. The squad also features promising young talents like Oliver Pratt, Corey Hall, and Jayden Myers. Litten, standing at 6ft 3in, is anticipated to add further strength to this group.
Ste Mills, Trinity’s Director of Rugby, emphasized that Litten is a fantastic signing for the club and aligns with their recruitment strategy. Mills noted that as soon as Litten became available, the club moved quickly to secure his services. He highlighted Litten’s large, athletic build and the “X-factor” he is expected to bring to the backline, which is a source of excitement for the upcoming season and beyond.
Mills also mentioned the energy surrounding the club’s building efforts, particularly with the addition of Litten alongside players like Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and the existing young talent. He expressed pleasure in welcoming Litten to the Trinity family and eagerness to see his contributions to the team.
Wakefield Trinity is currently positioned third in the Super League table. Hull FC confirmed Litten’s departure at the end of the 2026 Betfred Super League season, wishing him success in his future career and hoping he concludes his time with the club on a positive note over the coming weeks.
